Last year we started a new family tradition: Cutting our own tree from the National Forest. It's such a great thing. You buy a permit for ten bucks, they tell you where you can select your tree, you bring your snowshoes and Stanley thermos full of hot cocoa, and you get your tree. It's even healthy for the forest since it helps thin things out.
This year, the guy who cuts our tree had a hard time with the snowshoes.
We went to the Lions Club Christmas Tree Stand instead.
Will picked out the tree.
This guy cut the stump.
. . . and here she is!! All six feet of her. And she only cost sixty bucks. Whew!
We threw her in the back of the pickup and took her home.
Now she's watered, lit up, decorated, and looking beautiful in our living room. It feels like Christmas now.
