These pictures were all taken in Karen's yard. It was really cool to see the cactus blooms!
Karen told us that the one below hasn't bloomed since she's lived in her house. And she's lived there seven years. I saw the buds like this Wednesday evening, it bloomed Thursday, and the blossoms withered and fell off Friday. It was short-lived, but totally awesome.
I wish I had gotten better pictures of it!
The kids swam every day in Karen's pool.

Great photos, Melanie. You totally did justice to the cactus blooms! Wish I'd been braver about hiking Camelback with you all. Impressive!
