Maramec

We spent part of the day Saturday learning about Scheer history.  It should probably have it's own chapter in American history!

We took a walk down the old Main Street.  

This cross is standing in front of the church where Grandpa Scheer last preached.

Uncle John was telling us what used to be where. And that's Sam in the green shirt, hiding behind Uncle  John.  Not sure what he's hiding from.

Downtown Maramec.

We walked around the old downtown learning about some of the history of Maramec.  Did you know that a hundred years ago it was a booming oil town?  And now it's home to 60 people.  It's like a ghost town!
