Raise the Roof

The house is coming along.  

The roof is going on and this is what it looks like:

The roofers roll it out in big sheets of (I think) steel.  They have a machine that corrugates it right on site. 

Then they put it up, all clean and shiny!  It will probably take about a month for it to rust. 

So we are going to have a shiny roof for a while.  The more it rains, the quicker it'll rust.

If you drove by the house, you'd scratch your head and wonder what the heck we were thinking!

Above shows the "soffit," or the underside of the roof.  We used beetle-kill pine.  You can see the affected parts of the wood by the darker blue-ish tinge.  It was comparatively inexpensive and it uses a local readily available product.  I love it!

But the very best part of this new house is actually the green hills and blue skies right outside!

Above shows our propane tank.  : {  

The ground, as you can see, is saturated with water from all the runoff.  All the water pushed this gas tank right out of the ground.  

It looks like a submarine is sitting in the front yard.
