2nd Annual Backpacking Trip!

We went on another family backpacking trip this past weekend:  3 nights/4 days of hiking and camping in the beautiful Never Summer Wilderness.

It sure feels like an accomplishment to get everybody packed, motivated, and on the trail!

It's hard work.  The packs are pretty heavy (even though we try to keep them light as possible).   The trail is pretty long and steep.  Our kids complain (sometimes!).  But it is one of the best things we do together as a family.

We take lots of breaks.

We have to make sure we are going the right way.

 We stick together.

We work as a team.

Our legs get really tired.

So why do we do all this??

Well, for one, we get to spend time with the ones we love!

We get to spend time in beautiful places.

And we get to see things in a way that you just can't see them from your car.

We had a really great trip!  It's so awesome to me that Tim and Christina make the effort to come out here from Kansas.  Tim is a regular Bear Gryllis out there in the woods.

I chose to lug my big camera up there.  It was around my neck the whole time.  So I took way too many pictures : ).  I'll be sharing over the next few days.

Hope you're enjoying your summer!
